My research interests are broad and interdisciplinary; however, the overarching theme of my work is the social-cognitive processes involved in decision-making. In particular, I am interested in how individuals make attributions and judgments when presented with novel, complex, and contradictory information. Most of my work has implications for real-world applications – especially in regard to the legal system and equal rights for sexual minorities. Some of my current research examines straight and LGBT individuals’ perceptions of same-sex domestic violence, sexuality and creativity, the rational and experiential components of health anxiety, and jurors’ evaluations of expert reliability and validity.
